Today again, there nice and early and had got cracking with creating my news programme. We did fit in a muck rehearsal on seeing how long it takes to get the cameras from inside to outside and vice versa. Lauren had nicely gave me some footage which they were unable to use for their news show. After 9 o clock, which was the meeting for broadcast day, i grabbed a copy of the script and running order and then created my script for the news. I did an international news, and a local/college news with the weather. When it was coming up to the news, Mike said he will give me a buzz for me to come and direct it. Meanwhile the show was going on, i had many things to do for my news. Whilst a TV programme was playing, i robbed one of the camera operators to quickly film the weather for me. this took the matter of a few takes and a couple of minutes. i then was in an edit suite with Amy creating the opening titles and the editing the weather for my news show. I then burnt this to a DVD and gave it to sound and explained what i wanted playing and what point and also gave them a script that i created earlier. The first news show only had the opening titles and the 2nd news show had all the footage which sound wasn't happy about as they wasn't really prepared for it (But that's television!)
Today i was also directing the LIVE show of Muck. How exciting. We did have many rehearsals for camera shots but obviously not rehearsing the food changing so it was a little pressure. Georgie, a couple of minutes before the show had forgot about the opening titles and never had time to go get them out of her bag so we had to leave it. The show could not have gone a bit better. What i learnt with camera shot on a live show, you have to predict where the reactions are going to be and make sure that all cameras have a nice shot whilst the other cameras are moving. This is quite difficult because all three cameras at one point had a 90 degrees turn at the same time so i told camera 2 to just move steady so i could focus on that camera. The contestants with one game also had a lot of movement so it was hard who to actually focus on in all shots. the main thing what i had to focus on reactions and i felt like i didn't do a bad job for this and the programme turned out to be a success.
Overall today was a better day as we knew what to expect. Everybody was a lot calmer and presumed to have learnt from yesterdays mistakes.
